Goddess Durga is one of the principal deities in Hinduism. Created to destroy the demon Mahishasura, Goddess Durga is worshipped as the Goddess of strength and protection. Goddess Durga has nine forms, collectively known as Nav Durga, and are worshipped during the nine days of the Navaratri festival.
